I am very concerned that some of our female umpires have been subjected to abusive language of a personal and sexual nature. In one instance the abuse has come from Bombers under 18 players during Reserves and Senior games. It may also come from non club members and at any venue.

As a team we need all umpires to ensure that if there is such abuse being directed at one of our umpires, something needs to be done. Should it be extreme and personally directed and particularly of a sexual nature, please advise the captain, or coach, that the game may be stopped should it continue.
Direct them to do something about it immediately.

We are subject to all sorts of things from the crowd. I would expect that you are able to ignore the general carrying on. Extreme personal or sexual abusive language should not be tolerated. Look after your team mates on the ground. Some younger umpires may not be capable of dealing with certain situations so please assist where you can.
